The paper focuses on the approach to evaluation of training efficiency in small and medium-sized enterprises in the Czech Republic. The main objective is to evaluate, based on the results of the quantitative survey (n = 235), the use of training measurement and evaluation methods and related aspects in small and medium-sized enterprises in the Czech Republic in the period from 10/2012 to 06/2013. A partial objective is to test dependencies between selected qualitative features. The results revealed thatonly 34.3% of small and medium-sized enterprises systematically evaluate training efficiency. The survey results showed that enterprises? approach to training depends on the size of the enterprise, the sector in which the enterprise operates, the existence of an HR department and an HR strategy. An important factor determining the evaluation of training efficiency in small and medium-sized enterprises is an existence of an HR department.
