Altogether 21 species were found in a study area, representing 40.4 % of the total Czech fauna (47.7 % of the fauna of Bohemia). Most of the species found in the study area are Palaearctic in distribution (14 species, 66.7 %). followed by West Palaearctic species (3 species, 14.3 %) and temperate and South European ones (2 species, 9.5 %), and only 1 species (4.8 %) belongs to each Holarctic and Palaerctic plus Oriental species. One species, viz. Leopoldius diadematus, is recorded here for the first time from the Czech Republic (Bílina, Jirásek III, mine dump restoration, Phragmites growth, 23.vii. - 27.viii. 1989, 2 females, Malaise trap). The Malaise trap was inserted quite near of the nest of vasps (in this sampling term the trap was full of vasps together with another very rare conopid, Abrachyglossum capitatum). Myopa tesselatipennis is first recorded here from Bohemia (Lom nr. Bílina, nr. pond, 12.v.1996, 1 female, sweeping). Prof. M. Chvála kindly checked the identification of a
