Altogether 156 species were found in the study area, representing 58.1 % of the total Czech fauna of this family. The most species found in the study area were Palaearctic in distribution (45 species, 28.8 %), followed by Holarctic ones (37 species, 23.7%), West Palaearctic ones (24 species, 15.4 %) and Cosmopolitan (20 species, 12.8 %). Species representing the other elements were much less represented. Three species are recorded here for the first time from the Czech Republic, viz. Coenosia emiliae, Limnophora scrupulosa, and Hydrotaea ringdahli (Bílina-Chloumek, hilltop steppe, 25.vi.-24.vii.1998, Malaise trap, 1 male). Further 6 species represent first record in Bohemia, viz. Ceonosia bilineella, Lispocephala ungulata, Mydaea nubila, Phaonia canescens, P. laeta and Pyrellia rapax.
