    Two species found in the study area represent 40 % of the total Czech fauna of this family (66.7 % of the fauna of Bohemia). Both species are very common throughout central Europe, with European distribution. Rivellia syngenesiae is locally common on damp meadows and Platystoma seminationis has no special site demands having polyphagous larva and inhabiting forested areas (deciduous forests, forest steppes etc.) throughout the Czech Republic. The other species of the family are more thermophilous and they probably do not penetrate the study area.
