Effects of dietary rapeseed oil, vitamin E and copper on cholesterol and fatty acids content in broiler chicken meat

  • Original language description

The effect of wheat-corn-soybean meal diet with 5% of rapeseed oil, 50 mg per kg of vitamin E and different supplemets of Cu as copper sulphate pentahydrate and/or bioplex on contents of cholesterol and composition of fatty acids in brestmeat of broiler´s cockerels was studied. The experiment involved 600 broiler chickens. 1-day-old broiler chickens were randomly divided to 4 groups and fed with mixtures containing: I. - control (no Cu added), II. - 35 mg.kg-1 Cu as CuSO4.5H2O, III. - 175 mg.kg-1 Cu asCuSO4.5H2O, IV. - 175 mg.kg-1 Cu as bioplex. Broiler chickens were slaughtered at 42 days of age. Copper supplement reduced the cholesterol content by 24,9%. Compared to the control group (656 mg.kg-1 wet tissue) the cholesterol was significantly (P<0,05) lower in the group IV (493 mg.kg-1 ). The supplement of Cu significantly decreased the concentration of unsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) in III and IV groups (25,9 and 26,02%) compared to the control and group II. Total SFA (saturated fat
