Inducible and Endothelial Nitric Oxide Snathase Expression during Porcine Oocyte Growth and Meiotic Maturation

  • Original language description

Nitric oxide Synthase (NOS) has been considered as a highly regulated enzyme that can produce Nitric oxide, which is known as important signalling molecule. Three isoforms of NOS exist. The investigation was undertaken to verify if inducible and endothelial NOS isoforms are present in porcine oocytes during their growth and meiotic maturation. The presence of endothelial and inducible isoform was demonstrated in all size categories of growing oocytes and also in fully-grown oocytes and oocytes after 24and 48 hours of cultivation. These findings indicate that these isoforms have been already synthesized on the beginning of oocyte growth and are present in porcine oocytes during their meiotic maturation.
