Growing and Fully Grown Porcine Oocytes: Presence of PKC d.
Original language description
PKC includes twelve various serine/threonine protein kinases divided into three groups according to the presence of C1 and C2 regulatory domain. PKC d - isotype is a member of the novel PKC that are calcium independent. PKC was found in rat and mouse oocytes. There was observed the full-length protein as a doublet and smaller fragment, prseumably the truncated catalytic domain of PKC-d. The aim of our study was to verify the presence of PKC in the porcine oocytes during their growth. Collected growing oocytes were categorized to three groups according to their size. Proteins were separated by SDS-PAGE and detected using ECL Western blot method. PKC was found in all of the categories of oocytes. On the basis of this observation we assume that PKC can participate in the regulation of porcine oocyte growth.
