COMPARISON OF CONVENTIONAL AND REDUCED-TILLAGE TECHNOLOGIES OF WINTER RAPE STAND ESTABLISHMENT IN TERMS OF ENERGY, LABOUR AND COST REQUIRMENTS

  • Original language description

Within field trials carried out since the year 2001 in various districts of the Czech Republic, ten pairs, each of different farm or year, of fields were observed in which oilseed rape was grown using conventional and reduced-tillage technology. Agrotechnical and exploitation indicators, seed yields, individual cost components and overall costs were the key items that were observed or measured. The t-test for evaluating the differences in means between two dependent groups, i.e. fields cultivated by conventional and reduced-tillage technologies, was employed. The difference in labour consumption during stand establishment as well as in overall labour consumption showed statistically highly significant. Average three-year values of these indicators wereby 44,8 %, respectively by 20,9 %, lower in fields with reduced-tillage technology. Significantly different proved means of fuel consumption and machinery costs. The fields where reduced-tillage was employed showed by 14,0 %, respectively
