A total of eight species of Clusiidae (i.e. 72.7 % of species known from the Czech Republic) have been registered in Podyjí NP. This local fauna is formed by three Palaearctic, three European and two Temperate and North European species. It should be stressed that there are no thermophilous elements in the European clusiid fauna and that all these species (incl. those found in Podyjí NP) belong to fauna associated either with deciduous forests of the temperate belt or with coniferous taiga forests of the northern belt. Apart from common and eurytopic species (C. flava, C. albimanus, C. ruficollis), the fauna of Podyjí NP host several infrequent (C. geomyzinus, C. pictipes) to local and rare species (H. beckeri, C. caledonicus, P. tigrina), the latter two being the most important in terms of species conservation because they are rated as endangered (C. caledonicus) and vulnerable (P. tigrina) taxa in the Czech Republic.
