ZHODNOCENÍ VYBRANÝCH VLASTNOSTÍ DŘEVA BOROVICE ČERNÉ (PINUS NIGRA ARNOLD.)

  • Original language description

Sample trees of Black pine (Pinus nigra ARNOLD.) were harvested in Černokostelecko region in forest stands of Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, central part of Bohemia. The wood from the sample trees was examined for selected mechanical and physical properties. The compression strength parallel to the grain, the hardness, the density and the shrinkage were tested. The results were compared with data from other areas and with the properties of our native species. Quality of the wood is worse, especially in the terms of native softwoods. Black pine wood could so hardly substitute our native species for the most purposes they are used currently.
