Original language description

We have synthesized lipophilic alkyl pyridin-2-yl ketoximes 1 and two series of amphiphilic ligands 2 and 3 possessing besides a chelating subunit also a hydrophilic quaternary ammonium group. The extraction ability of ligands 1-3 was tested by metal iontransport through bulk liquid membrane. This method provides a useful tool for the investigation of interactions between metal ion and ligands at the aqueous/organic interface.
