Influence of rare earth and transition metals on electrochemical hydriding of Mg-based alloys
Original language description
Nickel and other transition metals have been known for many years to support hydriding of Mg-based alloys in hydrogen gas. However, gas hydriding can be recognized as uneconomical and risky. Therefore, we used a simple electrochemical hydriding method for storing hydrogen in one binary Mg-32Ni alloy and four ternary Mg-Ni-M (M = Zn, Cu, Co, Rare earths) alloys. The aim of this work is to evaluate the influence of transition and rare earth metals on electrochemical hydriding efficiency.
