Measurement of the polymer swelling kinetics: comparison of mri imaging and texture analyzer
Original language description
The drug release from swelling polymeric matrix tablets is a very complex process. Among others, drug-polymer interaction, porous and granular structure of the tablet, drug particle size, amorphous/crystalline state of the drug, drug distribution or surface properties are the factors that influence the swelling mechanism and API liberation [4]. The proper selection of the composition of tablet matrices is directly connected to physico-chemical properties of individual substances and their mutual interactions. Therefore, it became necessary to fully understand and describe the processes occurring during the matrix dissolution.
