    The importance of kinetic resides in the fact that these studies imply the determination ofsignificant parameters such as: specific growth rate, process yield, process control criteria, and scale-up considerations. Kinetics studies were carried out in packed bed column bioreactor using coffee husk as substrate. Cultivation was conducted at pH 6.5, 28oC, moisture 65% and airflow of 60mL.min-1. The exhausted air from the column bioreactor was coupled with a gas chromatography to estimate the respiratory metabolism and the fungal biomass. The exponential phase of microbial growth was achieved between 3 and 5 days, when was detected maximal O2 consumption and CO2 production. The specific growth velocity in this phase was 0.012h-1, the biomass yield based on oxygen consumption (Yx/o) was 0.571g of biomass/g of consumed O2 and Yx/s was 0.86g of biomass/g of consumed substrate.
