Bacterial bphC gene from a degradation pathway of PCBs was chosen for cloning into the plant genome of Nicotiana tabacum as a model plant. This was done for the purpose of increase PCB phytoremediation from the environment. The presence and expression ofthe bphC gene in transformed plants was verified.

Czech description
Pro zvýšení fytoremediace polychlorovaných bifenylů (PCB) ze životního prostředí, byl do modelové rostliny Nicotiana tabacum klonován gen z bakteriální degradační dráhy PCB - gen bphC pro 2,3-dihydroxybifenyl-1,2-dioxygenasu. V transformovaných rostlinách byla ověřena přítomnost a exprese genu bphC.
