Use of humic substance to modulate some functions and properties of fungl biodegraders. Proc. of the 10th Int. UFZ-Deltares/TNO Conference on Soil-Water Systéme; ConSoil 2008.

  • Original language description

Rhodotorula mucilaginosa, degrading both naphthalene and phenanthrene, exhibits significantly optimized capability to utilize both compounds if exposed to a humic substance, isolated from the oxihumolites (oxidatively altered lignite analogues) of a brown coal deposit. Moreover, the ultrathin sections of this yeast reveal coats of heterogenous electron density intimately associated with the outer part of abnormally thickened cell wall, containing increased levels of wall proteins, lipids, amino sugars,?-glucans, mannan and chitin. Detailed comparison of naphthalene / phenathrene uptake in the R. mucilaginosa populations exposed and not exposed to respective humic substances shows that the enhancement of model PAH uptake varies as a function of humic substance preparation and the initial concentration of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon.

Použití huminových látek k modulaci některých funkcí a vlastností fungálních biodegradérů

  • Czech description

Populace Rhodotorula mucilaginosa, degradující naftalen a fenantren, vykazuje výrazné zvýšení této aktivity je-li vystavena vlivu huminové látky izolované z oxyhumolitu.
