Yeasts Saccharomyces cerevisce were employed for biosynthesis of ergosterol. The aim of the study was to optimize the cultivation process by using fed-batch cultivation. Feeding of molasses medium was arranged by means of specific growth rate profile computed from carbon dioxide data using mathematical model.
