  • Original language description

Strain of Actinobacillus succinogenes was selected for studies and optimization of succinic acid production. Anaerobic cultivations of many other producers of SA were carried out in complex glucose media with continuous supply of carbon dioxide (e.g. bacterial strain Basfia succiniciproducens). Laboratory results gave evidence about further steps of the research to obtain higher product concentrations, higher yields and productivities. New strains from various sources have been looked for. A great effort has been given to methods of bacteria conservation and propagation. Another task of the research was directed to ABE fermentation (aceton-butanol-ethanol process) using separately two strains of genus Clostridium which are not commonly used for similartype of studies. Solvent producing strain Clostridium pasteurianum was chosen as the most robust one for the improvement. For this glucose utilizing strain, a complete set of laboratory data including batch, fed-batch and continuous ferm
