    Changes in actin dynamics are involved in the salicylic acid pathway

  • Original language description

    It has been shown many times that the plant cytoskeleton undergoes structural changes in response to internal and external cues. We used Arabidopsis thaliana 7days old seedlings expressing GFp tagged actin binding domain 2 (ABD2) of the Arabidopsis fimbrin AtFIM1 (GFp-fABD2) to observe changes in actin dynamics. We observed significant depolymerisation of actin filaments after treatment with 1 mM SA. These changes were very rapid, visible after few minutes and the observed pattern of actin filaments seem to be more similar to the effect of lantrunculin B than to cytochalasin E.
