The comparison of beta-glucan content and molar mass in Czech and German barley waxy varieties
Original language description
The aim of this work was to characterize the total and extractable ?-glucans in Czech and German waxy barley cultivars. The extractable beta-glucans were isolated using distilled water at temperature 55°C, time 120 min and pH 7.0. The mean molar mass (Mw) of extractable beta-glucans in waxy barley cultivars was determined by GPC and ranged from 4x103 to 1x106 g/mol in Czech barley and from 10x103 to 10x106 g/mol in German barley.
