Apple juice is considered among the most consumed juices worldwide and the quality of apple juices available in the markets is established upon a comprehensive set of legislations like Codex Alimentarus general standard for fruit juices and nectars (Codex Stan. 247-2005) and the Czech Decree no. 335/1997 Coll. which clearly define the criteria of fruit juice, fruit juice from concentrate and concentrated fruit juice. Moreover, the Association of the Industry of Juices and Nectars (AIJN) had introduced acode of practice which relies upon the European Quality Control System (EQCS) for fruit juices, nectars and high fruit juice containing beverages to ensure compliance with legal and industry standards.
