Computer Aided Design in Teaching of Modelling and Control of Batch Plants
Original language description
One of the courses on Chemical Engineering, Mathematical modelling and Informatics specialization, is Modelling and Control of Batch Plants. When teaching modelling, universal simulation programs can be used. Their use frees the student from routine programming work and allows him to concentrate on creative effort: problem formulation, proposing different solutions, discussion and analysis of results. In contrast to continuous processes, where such an approach to teaching is already standard, teachingofbatch processes was until recently limited by shortage of suitable software. Because of this, the aim of the paper is to acknowledge the reader with one of most recent tools for design and simulation of batch processes, the BDK software.
