    The present suspension investigation is concerned with experimentation on a pilot-scale with pitched-blade turbines (vessel diameter D=1 m). An attempt has been made to understand the effects of various system parameters such as the relative particle size dp, impeller diameter d and off-bottom clearance H2, and solids loading cV, on ncr , the critical impeller speed for just solids suspension, and on Pm, the specific impeller power consumption. The correlation has been proposed for the modified criticalFroude number Fr˘(dp/D; cV) calculations and compared with the correlation resulting from experiments carried out on model-scale. Further, the regression equation for Pm(dp/D; cV ) has been suggested from measurements on the pilot-scale equipment and i ts applicability has been tested on experimental data. For medium-concentrated suspensions, cV = 5 % by volume, the influence of geometrical parameters H2/d, D/d, dp/D and impeller blade number on values of Fr˘ and Pm is illustrated in thi
