In the presence of trace amounts of Cu(II) ,the reaction between hydrogen peroxide and thiosulfate ion in a stirred tank reactor exhibits one oscillatory and three stationary states as well as bistability between the oscillatory and one of the stationarystates and between two stationary states. We take a mechanism proposed in the literature and aim to fine-tune adjustable parameters so as to fit the calculated bifurcation diagrams to those found experimentally. We adopt a strategy of semiquantitative comparison of calculated and experimentally obtained bifurcation diagrams.
