Wavelet Transform in Signal De-noising
Original language description
Signal de-noising is a very important tool in many applications related to signal and image processing including their analysis, components detection and prediction. The paper is devoted to corresponding Wavelet signal decomposition and reconstruction. Fundamental part of the paper presents wavelet functions definition, analysis of their properties and their use for signal de-nosing using both soft-thresholding and hard-thresholding. Threshold level estimation is discussed in the paper as well. The verification of selected methods is presented for simulated signals at first followed by application of these methods for real signals representing gas consumption. Further applications include the extension of fundamental algorithms to two dimensional problems and biomedical images processing.
