Impeller suspension characteristics for the critical impeller speed
Original language description
In this paper, the results of suspension measurements are given for 3 types of axial flow impellers. From the presented results, the suspension process can be quantitatively assessed from the point of view of critical impeller speed or power consumption.On the base of presented suspension characteristics, the optimum selection of the equipment geometrical set-up can be made according to process requirements. Suspension measurements were evaluated in the form of suspension characteristics Fr˘(dp/D; cV),Pm(dp/D; cV) and pS(dp/D; cV). It can be expected that the given relations obtained from pilot-scale experiments represent far lesser risk on scale-up to plant-scale than the use of published relations determined from model-scale experiments.
