DEVELOPMENT OF AN ELISA SYSTEM ON A MICROCHIP PLATFORM
Original language description
This work is focused on development of a microdevice for an immunoassay performed on asolid phase. Our efforts cover both the mathematical modeling of realistic microsystems andthe development of experimental procedures for construction of such microdevices.Description of microdevices for the ELISA applications is rarely reported in theliterature. They usually consist of either a layer of microparticles with immobilized antigen orwith an antigen bound on walls of microchannels. None of the reported applications has beencommercially used yet. In addition to high costs, these microdevices have still manydisadvantages such as difficult manipulation with microparticles, low concentration ofantibody at walls with the immobilized antigen, irregularity in thelayer of the immobilizedantigen etc.We propose a system that should minimize these disadvantages. The central part ofthis microdevice contains a porous material. Pores of the material are permeable for smallmolecules and ions. Larger mol
