The paper deals with experimental and theoretical study of flow pattern dynamics in a flat-bottomed cylindrical stirred tank of inner diameter T = 0.29 m, filled with water to the height H = T. The vessel was equipped with four radial baffles and stirredwith six pitched (45°) blade impeller with impeller speed 400 rpm. The flow was observed in vertical and horizontal planes passing through the vessel
