CFD simulation of flow in a mixing device with a draft tube
Original language description
This paper deals with the numerical simulation of fluid flow in the mixed batch by axial impeller operating at draught tube. Six blade impellers with inclined blades at an angle of 30°, 45° and 60° were used for create axial flux. It is coaxially located in a cylindrical draught tube in the cylindrical vessel with flat bottom. The draught tube was equipped with four radial baffles above the impeller. The impeller pumped the liquid down toward the vessel bottom. The effect of the distance of the lower edge of the diffuser to flow in a mixed batch in a turbulent flow was observed. The three heights of diffuser were solved equivalent to one quarter, half and full diameter.
