Pumping Capacity of Pitched Blade Impeller in Tall Vessel with a Draught Tube
Original language description
Article deals with an experimental study of turbulent flow of Newtonian liquid in a cylindrical draught tube located coaxially in a cylindrical tall vessel with conical bottom. A pitched blade impeller rotates in the upper part of the draught tube pumping liquid upwards towards the surface of agitated batch. Laser Doppler velocimeter is used for measurement both the mean and RMS value of turbulent velocity in the draught tube and the pumping capacity of pitched blade impeller is calculated from radial profiles of the axial component of the mean velocity in the space bellow the impeller. As independent values the impeller speed and the width of the slot between the lower edge of the draught tube and conical bottom are considered.
