This work summarizes findings from experiments with a complex reaction of hydrogen peroxide with thiosulphate and sulfite in acidic solution carried out in a continuous flow stirred tank reactor. This reaction belongs to the family of pH oscillators because the concentration of hydrogen ions exhibits periodic changes in time. The observed dynamical regimes of this reaction are multiple steady states, periodic oscillations or chaotic behaviour under isothermal conditions. The aim of this work is the study of response dynamics of the reaction to single pulsed forcing by additions of hydrogen ions, hydroxide ions, thiosulphate ions, sulfite ions, hydrogen sulfite ions and hydrogen peroxide. The concentration increment due to the pulse constitutes the control parameter. The method is determing phase advance or phase delay of periodically oscillating system caused by external perturbations.
