Original language description
The reaction of hydrogen peroxide with thiosulphate and sulfite in acidic solution is a pH-oscillatory reaction characterized by marked pH variations in time implying autocatalytic nature of hydrogen ions. When carried out in a continuous-flow stirred tank reactor this reaction provides nonlinear dynamical regimes such as periodic, oscillations, chaotic behaviour and various stable steady states, which may coexist over a range of operating conditions. The aim of this work is the study of response dynamics of the reaction to single pulse forcing by additions of chosen reaction specie. The concentration increment due to the pulse constitutes the variable parameter. The experimental method is based on external perturbations of periodically oscillating system causing phase advance or phase delay of the system.
