Stoichiometric network analysis of MAPK cascade
Original language description
The Mitogen Activated Protein Kinase (MAPK) cascade is a highly conserved series of three protein kinases that conducts information signals to operate diverse biological processes. A parameter model of signal transduction produce nonlinear behaviour likebistability and oscillations. The reaction mechanism of MAPK cascade is composed from twelve biochemical reactions creating a larger chemical network. Methods of stoichiometric network analysis (SNA) are used to separate the entire network into irreducible subnetworks and then apply linear stability analysis to reveal potential dynamical instabilities. Finally, unstable subnetwork that evokes oscillatory behaviour has been identified.
