TEMPERATURE DEPENDENT RELEASE FROM LIPOSOMES IMMOBILIZED IN CALCIUM ALGINATE GEL
Original language description
Despite all these features, it is not so easy to use liposomes in practice. Liposomes are relatively fragile, they could be destroyed by a human immune system, they are leaking while in contact with an organic phase, etc. Their immobilization in an alginate gel is one of many ways of their protection. The resulting liposome-in-alginate particle has properties of both materials, liposomes react to the temperature and mechanical and chemical resistance is provided by an alginate gel.
