Original language description
We focus on finding proper parameters for occurrence of spatially non-uniform (Turing) patterns in a model of four coupled continuous stirred reactors in a linear array with equal transport coefficients of the activator and inhibitor. For modelling we have chosen a biochemical reaction - the core model of glycolysis proposed by Moran and Golbeter . There are two dynamical species in this model: ATP (activator) and ADP (inhibitor). The autocatalytic effect is due to the cooperative enzyme phosphofructokinase mediating conversion of ATP into ADP. A negative feedback is provided by steps in lower parts of the glycolytic reaction chain. The system was examined numerically by continuation and bifurcation analysis. The chosen parameters allow for transitionsbetween Turing patterns, which in turn are used as a means of parallel chemical computing.
