Original language description
To be prepared for requirements of the future, it is necessary to question the actual state of maintenance and to generate new ideas for future development. Tools are important for the maintenance process, using which the sustainability of a maintenance department can be checked and potentials for improvement can be realized. In this paper, the key ingredients that ensure successful implementation of enduring plant maintenance programs and improved equipment reliability are analysed the modern concepts of Strategic Asset Management (SAM). The authors determine completely alignment of resources to achieve to business goals of the organization at the lowest cots through SAM. The authors found out the benefits of successfully implementing SAM include: Improved product quality, Lower costs for system and equipment maintenance, Increased availability of production systems and equipment, Enhanced morale among management and the workforce and Reduction in costs. This paper will be describing some of the fundamentals regarding the concepts, practices and processes of SAM.
