Original language description
Computerized Tomography was used to visualize the shape of the vocal tract of a female subject before, during and after phonation into a tube. 3D FE models of the vocal tract were created and used to investigate the changes in the transfer function of the vocal tract and the acoustic energy radiated out of the mouth. The FE models allowed determining the acoustic consequences of the changes of the supraglottal spaces before and after phonation into the tube.
