Original language description
This paper attempts to pinpoint sources of professional ethical awareness, define the nature of the specificity of the high ethical demands and complexity of translating activity which are reflected in the sources of ethical standards recognized by the professional community and outline some particular ethical problems. Ethics is very topical, especially in connection with matters involving difficult moral decisions, cases of alleged misconduct by translators, the extent of a translator?s liability andthe boundaries of this extent which can be rather ambiguous, depending on the words exchanged between the interpreter and his client.
