English Linguistics Undergraduates' Experience with Moodle in Blended Learning Environment: a preliminary study

  • Original language description

The submitted paper represents a preliminary probe into the efficiency of Moodle supported undergraduate courses in English linguistics. The research tried to correlate students’ English lexicology exam results with their Moodlesupported learning experience. The analysis was based on a technology acceptance model survey that was conducted at the Department of English and American studies among 3rd year students of English language and literature (N=61). The aim of the study was to gain an understanding of the antecedent factors instrumental in enhancing students’ learning performance through blended learning. Even though students positively evaluated Moodle’s perceived ease of use and usefulness, this fact did not correlate with their willingness to avail larger spectrum of activities provided by Moodle. The results show several new hypotheses that will be further examined by a subsequent quantitative analysis through e.g. the partial least squares technique.
