A note on Euler's varphi-function

For a large class of multiplicative arithmetic functions f a method is given to determine the value of the leading coe?cient in the asymptotical formula for the number of integers n ? x with f(n) prime to a given integer. This is applied to Euler's '-function, generalizing the result of [6].
