The article deals with interdisciplinary relations because in the field of education in the Czech Republic this issue is probably not given enough attention. Project NATURE of the University of Ostrava, which Palacký University in Olomouc also takes part in, is aimed at strengthening pedagogical competencies of elementary school teachers in natural science subjects including interdisciplinary relations with mathematics. The article defines issues of interdisciplinary relations and theoretically defines the framework of action research conducted in teaching with the support of worksheets prepared in the project NATURE.
