The new concept of steel structure bracing

  • Original language description

The design of high rise vertical structures that must withstand the actions of horizontal forces consisting primarily of wind actions, earthquake actions etc. puts greater demands on the structure reinforcement resisting to these forces. The structures concerned include masts, towers and high-rise buildings. Many different systems are used as vertical bracing. One of them is a new stiffening system called "circular reinforcing system" presented in this paper. Because it is the new structural system it is now subject to experimental tests to proof its sufficient stiffness and other properties for practical applications.
