Improving Distance Learning in Safety Disciplines
Original language description
The current security situation around the world is marked viral disease COVID 19 and the Czech Republic is no exception. This viral disease has changed and limited the normal life of the population. The prevention of the spread of the disease also directly affected education, which led to the introduction of distance learning at all levels of education. The transition from full-time to distance learning has become very challenging in various respects. From selecting a suitable communication tool to an online exam period. Currently, distance learning is provided through online support, where we can include SKYPE, Microsoft Teams, Google MEET, etc. The current situation has led universities to a new style of teaching, which in some way has affected education itself. Responding to change and adapting to the current situation, some universities managed better and some worse. In essence, in modern history, it was not necessary to address the distance form of teaching to such an extent. And so it is good to realize what good this time has brought - the transition from full-time to distance form will no longer be a problem, thanks to current experience. The approaches of individual universities differ, and yet it is possible to look for inspiration in them that would help ensure a high-quality distance learning form. To assess the possibilities of distance learning at the VSB -Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Safety Engineering, respectively, the description and empirics from the teaching of the academic year of subjects focused on safety will be used. The results of the research will lead to their application in professional subjects such as Emergency Planning and Crisis Management, and this will lead to improved teaching of safety disciplines at the Faculty of Safety Engineering.
