The paper deals with safety of passengers in the city public transport. Changing attitude of passengers towards public stops and means of transport as dangerous places is very important for attracting new users, but the higher sense of passengers' security should not lead to the insouciance. It's essential to reach suitable balance when every passenger of a public transport will feel comfortably enough, but on the other hand, he will also be aware of necessary safety issues. The paper has been compiledusing results of the grant project No. 103/04/0476 "Proposal of financing traffic attendance methodology", which is being realised thanks to the financial support from the public Grant Agency of the Czech Republic

Článek se zabývá bezpečností cestujících v MHD. Měnící se postoj lidí k zastávkám a vozidlům MHD jako k nebezpečným místům je důležitý pro přilákání dalších uživatelů, ale větší pocit bezpečí by neměl vést cestující k bezstarostnosti. Je potřebné dosáhnout vhodnou rovnováhu, tedy stav, kdy se všichni cestující budou cítit pohodlně při používaní městské hromadné dopravy, ale budou si uvědomovat bezpečnostní problémy. Příspěvek je zpracován s využitím výsledků grantového projektu č.103/04/0476 "Návrh metodiky financování dopravní obslužnosti", který je realizován za finanční podpory ze státních prostředků prostřednictvím Grantové agentury České republiky
