The HERCULES Mobile Robot Manipulator
Original language description
The article describes a manipulation subsystem for the mobile robot Hercules. The manipulator was designed and realized on the Department of robotics as a part of the MPO project. In the article is described the drive unit which was designed for the joints of the manipulator. A total displacement of the manipulator end point was specified by analyses of the manipulator virtual model. A measurement of the end point displacement on the real mechanism was also done and the values were compared. The complexcontrol system of the robot is also mentioned, with emphasis on control of the robotic arm, ranging from the hardware components to the software implementation with graphical user interface.
