Business Process Modeling and Simulation for Quality Management
Original language description
Business processes represent the most essential part of quality management. Precisely defined, a process is the only way the product can be obtained repeatably with a required quality. Specification of business processes is usually based on textual formand/or in a form of flow charts. The problem is that a lack of formalization in the process definition enables to employ only the "best-practice" approach that requires feed-back from real system to improve process. Modeling and simulation of business processes can help to shorten the cycle radically due to possibility of computer-based experimentation. This contribution shows how the formalized building of business process models can be unified with the principles of quality management to provide one integral and flexible system, easy to use and easy to develop.
