The Czech Republic is confronted with the task to be integrated successfully into the EU structures in all areas of life. Universities, in accordance with their missions, are assigned to incorporate themselves into the European Education, Research and Development Area. In addition, technical universities shall serve as technology transfer centres, shall play an active role in the innovation process initiation leading to the support of competitiveness in the cooperating companies, to the economic growth,and to the prosperity in the regions, An objective example can provide the European countries with the highest economic growth trends and the highest values of the innovation indexes - e.g. Ireland, Finland, and Sweden.
