EPR -test for field measuring
Original language description
In connection with the microstructural dissolution of the phases in stainless steels, particularly carbides, suitable testing conditions were established to follow the intercrystalline corrosion on the principle of reactivation from the passive and/or transpassive state [1-3]. Electrochemical potentiodynamic reactivation method for measuring the sensitization of materials can be employed "in situ". A program was recently completed to develop a quantitative method for non?destructive measuring the degreeof sensitization and to characterize weld heat - affected zones with a miniaturized electrochemical field cell filled by gel-electrolyte. This electrolyte was on the bases of H2SO4 + KSCN and the results are for the studied steels with common liquid electrolyte (see the comparison on the figure).
