In this Chapter three different concepts of economic potential are investigated. The first concept is based on the transportation costs and total outputs of the new regions NUTS3 in the Czech Republic. This new concept is compared with the concepts knownfrom the literature. Using the real data the influence of the new motorway D47 from Lipnik to Ostrava is investigated in the Empirical study 1. The results show that the new motorway will have a significant influence on the economic development of the Moravia-Silesia region.

V této kapitole jsou vyšetřovány tři rozdílné koncepty ekonomického potenciálu. První koncept je založen na dopravních nákladech a celkovém výstupu nových regionů NUTS3 v České republice. Tento koncept je porovnán s podobnými pojumy známými z literatury.Na reálných datech se v Empirické studii 1 vyšetřuje vliv nové dálnice D47 z Lipníka do Ostravy. Dosažené výsledky dokazují, že nová dálnice bude mít významný vliv na ekonomický rozvoj Moravsko-slezského kraje.
