In the present time and especially now in the time of economic crises it is very important for every business to be able to survive or sustain the competition. Companies today have to think about their business strategy, especially when it comes to the kind of competencies a business needs to have in order to compete in a specific environment. Many companies today use the competency models in human resources management. Well-designed competency models can be used by the company in many ways; it can provide and aid the HRM in the following: recruitment, performance management, training and development, recognition and awards, compensation and succession planning. Competency models, which should be designed for all key positions in the company, show whatcompetencies are necessary for individual position(s).
